The primary role of the Multi Skilled Compliance Engineer is to provide engineering resource in ensuring our customers sites are 100% compliant. This includes carrying out periodic statutory testing to systems and completing periodic inspections to buildings and systems, carrying out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, refurbishment, installation, improvements & modifications or upgrades. You will also be working on some key projects across the business where M&E are core, you will be heavily involved in these projects from planning, delivering through to practical completion alongside our projects teamFull training will be given and a structured training program with excellent future career prospects will be offered to the right candidate.
Role & Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Multiskilled Compliance Engineer are detailed below:
- Undertake statutory compliance maintenance activities relating to water, mechanical, electrical and life safety systems
- Complete comprehensive reports on company work management system
- Provide managed compliance duties on behalf of our clients
- Undertaking planned maintenance activities
- Undertaking Reactive repairs within you skillset
You will provide first and immediate response to fault finding, whilst maximising quality and ensuring cost effectiveness. Conduct electrical, mechanical and fabric repairs within your skillset. Undertake both reactive and planned maintenance across several sites ensuring our clients are fully compliant, and the company’s contractual obligations are met.
The information gathered during the checks and inspections is key to the performance of the business and its contract Service Level Agreements. The documentation produced and managed by this individual will be performance managed by Key Performance Indicators with the client regularly.
Core Technical Competencies, Skills, Knowledge & Understanding
- Develop good client relationships
- Develop good understanding of reporting structures and company documentation
- Take ownership of individual reporting timelines and data input from your regular duties focused on compliance testing and PPM
- Attend all organised training course representing the company in a professional manor
- Report on non-compliances in a timely manner with a full understanding of the relevant British Standards and industry best practices
- Undertake a wide range of work of other trades outside your core trade skills, and do so in a safe and effective manner, complying with all relevant safety legislation and procedures
- Assist the Senior Engineering Team with Project / Installation work when required
- Organize and priorities own workload, where required, and to work with minimal supervision and can work successfully as part of a team
- Communicate with colleagues, Clients, and their representatives in a polite and courteous manner always to ensure a high level of customer care
- Take direction and receipt of planned or reactive workloads from the Senior Engineering Team
- Assist the Senior Engineering Team with the Management and delivery of site specific KPI and SLA’s
- At all times carry company communication devices (Mobile phone) to facilitate immediate response to emergencies during core hours
- Understand, demonstrate, and manage Health & Safety in the workplace
- Comply with organizational safety, policies and procedures and identify hazards and assist to reduce them
- Understand, demonstrate, and manage the safe use of hand tools, for example screwdrivers, power drills, pliers and a variety of other tools used
Qualifications & Educational Requirements

- ACOP L8 legionella control qualification
- City and Guilds, NVQ or equivalent L3 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or HVAC discipline
- Level 2 Working in facilities services
- Level 2 Health & Safety for Facilities Services
- IPAF/PASMA
- Water Hygiene L8 Asbestos Awareness
- Operative Manual Handling Working at Height First Aid
Preferred Skills & Core Behavioural Attributes
- You will have a broad Facilities experience, ideally with a strong compliance testing & inspection background
- High level of practical knowledge of relevant employment, Health and Safety and general legislative requirements
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with ability to work with senior client figures
